This operator, Byron Bay Sea Turtle School strive to promote environmental education, promote marine conservation and conduct scientific research to protect and save the loggerhead

sea turtles from extinction.&nbsp; They are currently engaged in a scientific program in partnership with the NSW government to protect these turtles in the area. Furthermore, they are affiliated with Dolphin Research Australia and Australian Seabird &amp; Turtle Rescue and collaborate with their boats.

$5 will be donated to Australian Seabird &amp; Turtle Rescue Hospital Ballina from every purchase.

You&rsquo;ll want to wear a comfortable swimsuit and a wide-brimmed sun hat to keep yourself well-protected while you&rsquo;re snorkelling. You&rsquo;ll also need to make sure you properly apply factor 50 sunscreen (reef-safe sunscreen is highly encouraged) before hopping in the water.

All tours meet at Byron Bay Sea Turtle School&rsquo;s store, which is located at 9 Marvell Street, Byron Bay. Customers should note the best entry to the store is via Fletcher Lane. You can find directions to the store by entering the address into Google Maps. Unfortunately, the tour operator does not offer pick-ups from accommodation or alternate meeting points.

Enjoy an incredible opportunity to learn about, swim alongside, and help protect the sea turtles at Nguthungulli Julian Rocks (NJR) with this one-of-a-kind workshop. As one of Australia&rsquo;s oldest and most diversely beautiful marine sanctuaries, NJR is home to more than 1000 marine species. This gives visitors a unique chance to encounter some of the most fascinating ocean creatures that call Australia home.

During this workshop, you will learn to identify the local sea turtle species and how to interact with them correctly. Led by knowledgeable marine scientist guides, this experience is informative and engaging, covering topics such as ocean ecology, biology, and the critical roles sea turtles play in our complex ecosystems.

After taking in all this knowledge, you will set out on a thrilling snorkelling adventure at the NJR marine reserve. Here, you will have the opportunity to swim around and assist a local scientific team by learning how to photograph turtles in their natural environment. Collecting valuable photo-identification data is essential for these scientists to properly monitor, protect, and better understand these fascinating and important marine creatures.

The tour operator will donate $5 from every purchase to Australian Seabird &amp; Turtle Rescue Hospital Ballina to help further protect Australia&rsquo;s incredible ocean life. They also hold a permit to conduct marine turtle scientific research within the Cape Byron Marine Park (CBMP) issued by NSW DPI (permit #MEAA23/222).
