Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring?

With strict luggage restrictions of 1 x 15kg backpack and one small day pack, you need to pack sensibly and light. Please ensure you have comfortable walking shoes, a hat, jacket, raincoat, sunglasses, water bottle or Camelbak, swimmers, beach towel and of course a camera. Please bring a pillow and sleeping bag to insert into your swag.

For cooler months if you are camping we strongly recommend beanies, thermals, thick warm socks and gloves. It can get very cold during the night. If travelling in summer we recommend that you bring loose, cool, cotton clothing to protect yourself from the harsh sun. A sun hat, sunscreen and sunglasses are a must.

Australia has a relaxed attitude to standards of dress. However, depending on the time of year, you may need to be prepared for the extremes. Temperatures in Southern Australia in winter (June, July, August) can get quite cold with daytime temperatures from 10 to18 degrees Celsius and nighttime temperatures can reach zero. Please ensure you pack appropriately.

In summer, daytime temperatures can be extreme from November to April with temperatures generally in the 30s but sometimes reaching over 40 degrees Celsius. Be prepared to endure extra physical stress due to the heat at these times, especially while on walks.

We are happy to cater to passengers with most special diets but these and or food allergies MUST be informed at the time of booking. Some of the food for the trip is purchased prior to commencement and special requirements cannot be catered for after departing. If you have not notified us prior to departure, you may be asked to pay for any additional food yourself. We offer plenty of variety and do our best to provide fresh products. Snacks, soft drinks and alcohol are not included.

To get the most from this adventure, you need to enjoy the outdoors, hike, and be able to cope with extreme weather conditions.

You need to be prepared for walks between 3-12 kilometres on some days. This may involve rough ground and perhaps getting wet, therefore a medium level of fitness is required and a doctor's certificate is required for people over 70 years.
